Vallnord consists of three main ski areas, Pal, Arcalis and Arinsal. Pal and Arinsal are linked by lifts, whilst Arcalis is just a short, free ski bus ride down the road. The Arinsal-Pal sector is easily reached through several access points, notably two main lifts at Arinsal village, and another link gondola from La Massana. The skiing is a mix of open bowls in Arinsal and many tree-lined runs in Pal and Arcalis. Beginners will largely stay in Arinsal initially, and with progression often move onto the Pal sector which offers more challenging blues and reds. however, Pal does also offer some excellent green and blue runs for beginners. Pal and Arcalis offer some excellent varied terrain that make for some great skiing days with a huge variety of pistes available. In all cases, lift queues are usually minimal, locals helpful and the ski school award winning and English speaking.
Nearly all slopes sit above 1900m, upto 2625m, and many slopes face an easterly direction. This ensures that even when much of Europe may be having a bad snow year, Vallnord has snow in abundance and is an extremely reliable resort for snow. The season opens in December, and it has been know to stay open until the end of April. Modern snow also covers slopes in Vallnord to top up the slopes.
Many hotels in the Vallnord area offer excellent onsite facilities such as games rooms and discos. In addition, the whole of Andorra is accessible in a short drive as it is such a small country. This ensures if it is available in Andorra, it is available to your group. The capital, Andorra la Vella offers swimming, bowling, spas and more, whilst other areas feature Pizza party nights, ice skating, sledging and more.
