La Toussuire is part of the extensive Les Sybelles network in the southern French Alps.  Widely unknown in British circles, Les Sybelles is often the resort of choice for the French, meaning this is the perfect place for school ski trips due to lower prices and uncrowded pistes, yet modern and extensive lifts systems.

The skiing…

Staying in La Toussuire, your school ski trip group will have ski-to-door accommodation with easy access to the whole Les Sybelles network of 310km of pistes – the fourth largest in France.  Slopes offer magnificent 360 degree views over the mountains and plenty of fresh snow over an extensive network of pistes.  The vertical drop is an impressive 1281m in Les Sybelles with runs up to 6km in length.  Locally in La Toussuire, you start from an altitude of 1800m, meaning you can usually ski back to your accommodation, with La Toussuire being an excellent place for beginners due to numerous long, gentle runs.  Further afield in Les Sybelles, Saint Sorlin d’Arves is an excellent place for the more advanced skiers in your group with more testing runs.  Saint Jean d’Arves is an area which has some of the most spectacular runs of the region, with wide open bowls of all colours.

The snowfall…

All skiing in Les Sybelles takes place between 1550-2620m.  Combine this with modern snow-making facilities and you can be sure Les Sybelles will have great snow cover throughout the season, from early December until Easter.  Plenty of north facing slopes and lack of trees also help to ensure snow-cover is good for the season.

Off-the slopes…

La Toussuire is a lively town, but as the resort has not yet majored on the international map La Toussuire remains a perfect option for school groups. Essentially, Ski Adaptable like it for schools because it offers plenty for evening activities without being a party town.  The centre offers activities including swimming, bowling, ice skating, and more unusual activities such as the Igloo Cinema, Snake-sledging and snow-shoeing.
