Ski Adaptable is part of the Adaptable Travel Group who are an Assured Member of the School Travel Forum.

School Travel for school ski tripsThe School Travel Forum is a group of leading school tour operators who promote good practice and safety in school travel. All Assured Members of the STF adhere to a rigorous Code of Practice and Safety Management Standards and are externally verified each year by suitably qualified independent Health and Safety professionals.

Choosing an STF Assured Member ensures teachers and schools are meeting the requirements of DfES and Scottish Executive guidelines and that they can delegate important tasks with confidence.

During the course of developing the STF Code of Practice, and in addition to liaising with the DfES, advice has been sought from all leading educational Unions and Associations. The STF initiative is welcomed by the Outdoor Education Advisors Panel (OEAP) and the DfES. It has the support of the ASCL, NAHT, ATL, NUT, PAT and the NASUWT advises members wishing to organise school trips to use companies that have this type of scheme.

Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge

Adaptable Travel has been awarded The Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge.

Learning Outside the Classroom for school ski tripsThe Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge provides for the first time a national accreditation combining the essential elements of provision – learning and safety – into one easily recognisable and trusted Quality Badge for all types of Learning Outside the Classroom providers. Local authorities, other employers, the education workforce and parents will be able to recognise and have confidence in the Quality Badge scheme.

Adaptable Travel are proud to be an accredited Quality Badge provider. We have shown that we have pledged to engage in an ongoing process to sustain high-quality learning outside the classroom and have demonstrated that we meet six quality indicators:

  1. We have a process in place to assist users to plan the learning experience effectively;
  2. We provide accurate information about our offers;
  3. We provide activities, experience or resources which meet learner needs;
  4. The provider reviews the experience and acts upon feedback;
  5. The provider meets the needs of users;
  6. The provider has a safety management processes in place to manage risk effectively.
