Amazing new developments in Grandvalira for 2017
Grandvalira has invested 13 million euros on new ski lifts, new slopes, enhanced Ski and Snowboard School services and more selection of cafes and restaurants as an improvement to its customer experience.
For this season, Grandvalira has committed to improve their transport system with the installation of four new lifts, now with the capacity to carry 106,950 skiers an hour, which is an additional 6250 more than last year. One of the new lift is the Pic Negre ski lift, enabling access to one of the most amazing landscapes in the Pas de la Casa sector.
There are also new three new additions to Grandvalira’s ski slopes, the first is the Escola or School Slope in the Pas de la Casa sector, it is a 500m section of reduced green level skiing. A new blue slope, the Port Slope is added which runs from the peak of the Costa Rodona chairlift to the foot of the resort, also located in the Pas de la Casa sector. There’s also a new area for Toboggan and Circuit Cross area for younger skiers. Part of the improvements includes five new snow cannons, 3 trolls, 1 standard and 1 PistenBully Pro Park. Which totals to 20 high and low-pressure snow cannons across the resort.
The Ski and Snowboard School has been fully renovated within a new location. This also includes the extension in the nursery area and snow garden, providing more space for the children to practice.
The resort also introduces Alpine skiing at the Pas de la Casa sector, with the opening of the first such off-piste circuit that runs through the Isards area.
With the installation of new slopes, lifts and services. Grandvalira has also announced various improvements to the gastronomic and apres ski scene, from new Clicquot Snow Blub Grandvalira to Hard Rock food truck.
With 128 slopes and 210 km of skiable snow, Grandvalira is the largest resort in the Southern Europe, a perfect ski destination for all levels and should be on the top of the list for your next school ski trips.
