While modern technology is still relatively new in the grand scheme of things, it has come a long way in that time and continues to evolve at an ever increasing rate. From the very first programmable relay computer, the Zuse Z1, designed and built in Berlin in 1938 through to the much powerful machines we use today.

Our Berlin ICT package is all about educating students on the history of technology, how it used and how it affects our lives on a day to day basis. All set to the beautiful backdrop of Berlin, a city that has benefitted greatly from computing and technology over the years with Germany being the biggest tech exporter in Europe.Visit a functional BMW motorcycle Factory where your students will get the chance to see how modern tech has been implemented to improve quality, speed up build times and generally make the whole process easier. A trip to the computerspiele museum will reveal some of Germany’s greatest technological feats with its huge collection ranging from transport to computing to communications, there is sure to be something to spark your student’s interests.

Suggested Itinerary

On arrival you will be transferred to your accommodation where you can check-in before heading back out for a visit to the Game Science Centre Berlin, an interactive museum that will allow you to learn about and try out a range of new technologies being implemented into games from Virtual Reality to movement & voice-based input. Following this, your group can take a trip to the German Museum of Technology which offers a broader overview of the evolution of technology over the years in all industries.

The second day starts with a visit to the Computerspiele Museum that celebrates the history and culture of gaming. With a collection that spans decades from the very first most basic machines through to the games, we enjoy today. Next up is a trip to Humboldt University to visit their Computer Museum, a special collection of retro machines and early models that have been preserved and stored in the university collection.

Day 3 will give you the chance to visit a functioning BMW factory that produces over 700 vehicles every day. The 2.5hr tour will take you around the workshop which specializes in motorcycle production and learn what goes into creating them as well as the machines used to assemble the final product.

Your last day is free to do as you please, many of our groups will use this day to see explore Berlins rich culture. Some great examples are visits to the Reichstag or the TV Tower which offer spectacular views of berlin’s landscape. After this you will be transferred to the airport for your return journey.
