Passo Tonale is fast emerging as one of our most popular school ski trip resorts.  Why?  Snow-sure slopes upto 3000m+, a variety of excellent slopes served by fast lifts, some superb value packages and a choice of accommodation options.  Why not?

The skiing…

Your ski pass offers you the chance to experience the Adamello Ski area, which covers not only the slopes of Passo Tonale but also the linked Ponte di Legno.  With grand views of the skiable Preseno Glacier from the main slopes, skiing on the Passo Tonale slopes feels like a reel accomplishment and confidence booster for beginners, who will find row-upon-row of gentle, wide slopes – many of them long and confidence boosting.  Some of the red runs offer good progression even for beginners, whilst higher up the mountain more challenging runs can be found.  A new eight-seater high-speed lift now whisks the more daring to the top of the Presener Glacier for more challenging runs.  A favourite of our groups is the 4.5km Alpino piste down a deserted valley leading to the village.  You can head toward Ponte di Legno either on skis via an easy red run or a gondola ride.  Either option will see your group greeted by even more excellent runs which vary in length and ability, many of which are forested offering good cover in bad weather.  The lift system in Passo Tonale is simply excellent and enables your entire group to experience large parts of the mountain easily to make the most of their lift pass.

The snowfall…

Passo Tonale is one of the few resorts that can truly claim to be ‘snow-sure’ and offer skiing all year round on the Presener Glacier.  Passo Tonale sloped are open and tree-free, meaning even better snow coverage, most of which is well above 2500m, with some of our accommodations offering ski-to-door.  In bad weather, the tree-lined slopes of Ponte di Legno offer a welcome retreat in more sheltered conditions.  Snow cover will not be an issue in Passo Tonale.

Off-the slopes…

Passo Tonale is a fairly compact village dedicated to skiing, surrounded by mountains.  There is plenty to keep your group occupied in the town, including ice skating, snowshoeing, night skiing, swimming – or just taking in the amazing views.
